Clarification on recent NYS mask policies – our office still requires masks
Dear patients,
The New York State Department of Health has recently released communication regarding new policies for wearing masks. Per this new policy, individuals who are fully vaccinated do not necessarily have to wear masks when appropriately socially distanced. However, given the nature of our office and the individuals that we see, our office still requires all individuals wear a suitable mask per original CDC and NIH guidelines while indoors. We appreciate your understanding in helping to keep those that were not medically eligible for vaccination, or unable to be vaccinated due to current age restrictions safe while in the office.
At present, our office has no plans to discontinue increased disinfection measures and/or social distancing / other COVID 19 mitigation measures. As the concern of new variants continues to threaten at risk populations, we find it prudent to maintain these mitigation measures.
If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to talk to a member of our knowledgeable staff.
Stay safe,
–The office of Dr. Mabel Cheng, Dr. Nicole Lemanski, and Dr. Abigail Zielke.
