COVID-19 Updates
Updated Office Mask & Safety Policies – Effective 02/20/2023
According to the New York State Department of Health, masks are now optional for the general public. However, mask-wearing within our office remains at the discretion of our eye care providers. While our staff will continue to wear masks, and the CDC still recommends face coverings, please note:
- If a provider requests that you wear a mask during your visit, we ask that you comply.
- Patients who refuse to wear a mask after being asked may be denied service.
- If you are sick, have a fever, or test positive for COVID-19, please reschedule your appointment.

Enhanced Sanitization & Safety Measures
We remain committed to providing a safe environment for our patients and staff. As of now, we have completed 90% of our automated sanitization rollout and have doubled the number of hand sanitizer stations throughout the office.
Recent upgrades include:
- Vioguard automated sanitizing cabinets in key locations to disinfect frequently touched items.
- A portable UVC sanitizer system designed for our optical shop, with plans published publicly at www.albanynyppe.com for community use.
These improvements build upon our previously established safety measures, which include:
